Case of the Year

Recognises the legal work involved in, and significance of, a case with judgment delivered during the qualifying period whose significance, complexity or outcome has made a notable contribution to the development or application of the law. Only representatives listed on the original entry will be included on the shorlist, unless a request to add others is made to the awards team.

Chambers of the Year

Recognises a UK-based set of chambers demonstrating excellence in legal advice, advocacy, leadership and strategic performance, together with activities which positively contribute to its people, the profession and the wider legal community.

Client Experience Award

Recognises a law firm, chambers, team or individual that puts clients at the heart of its approach and delivers an exceptional, differentiated experience that strengthens relationships and produces measurable value.

Costs Law Team of the Year

Recognises a team demonstrating outstanding expertise and performance in legal costs, combining technical excellence with strong outcomes, innovative working and exceptional service on complex costs matters.

Dispute Resolution Team of the Year

Recognises a dispute resolution team that has delivered exceptional results on challenging matters through outstanding legal expertise, strategic thinking, innovation and a strong commitment to professional and wider legal service.

Employment Law Team of the Year

Recognises a UK employment law team that stands out for exceptional legal expertise, client service and results, demonstrating excellence across significant or challenging employment matters.

Excellence in Talent Management Award

Recognises a legal organisation that takes an outstanding, strategic approach to attracting, developing and retaining talent, creating inclusive career pathways and enabling people to fulfil their potential at every career stage.

In-House Team of the Year Award

Recognises an in-house legal team that delivers exceptional legal service while making a material contribution to its organisation's strategy, commercial goals, operational effectiveness and management of risk.

International Team of the Year

Recognises a team that has delivered legal excellence, strategic impact and complex, high-value matters across multiple jurisdictions which has made a demonstrable contribution to the success of their clients in international or cross-border work.

Knowledge Management Award

Recognises a team or individual delivering exceptional legal knowledge management through innovative, practical and high-impact approaches that improve how knowledge is captured, shared and used.

Law Firm of the Year

Recognises a UK law firm demonstrating outstanding all-round performance, legal excellence and ingenuity, with clear evidence of market leadership and a positive contribution to its people and communities.

Legal Aid Firm of the Year

Recognises a law firm delivering exceptional publicly funded legal services, combining high professional standards with strong client outcomes and a sustained commitment to access to justice and the communities it serves.

Legal Personality of the Year

Honours an individual who has made an exceptional and visible contribution to the legal sphere through significant recent achievements, leadership, influence or impact on law, justice or the profession.

Legal Services Delivery Innovation Award

Recognises a legal organisation or team or supplier that has successfully transformed legal service delivery through an original idea, technology, process, product or operating model that produces tangible and lasting benefits.

Lifetime Contribution Award

This honours an individual whose career has made a sustained, significant and respected contribution to the legal world, leaving a lasting legacy through professional achievement, leadership and service.

Pro Bono Award

Recognises a firm, chambers or in-house team whose pro bono or community programme demonstrates exceptional commitment, innovation and measurable impact in improving access to justice or supporting communities.

Specialist Law Firm of the Year

Recognises a boutique, niche or specialist law firm that demonstrates exceptional expertise, client service and achievement within a clearly defined area of practice, supported by a strong and distinctive market position.

The Halsbury Award for Rule of Law

Honours an individual or organisation that has made a significant and sustained contribution to protecting, promoting or strengthening the rule of law, fair governance and the principles of justice.
